"Promoting Physical Fitness" is one of the key aims of the cadet movement.  To that end, physical fitness days are a mandatory part of every cadet's annual training program.

TRAINING & PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS:

In order to pass your annual training level, you must attend at least 5 sports days during the course of the training year.  Additionally, in order to get promoted, most ranks require that you attend a Fitness Evaluation.  The PERI Officer or Training Officer will announce in advance which sports days will contain a fitness evaluation.

SQUADRON SPORTS TEAM:

The Squadron Sports Team is a temporary and occasional team, typically assembled in preparation of annual regional Sports Competitions.  When assembled, the team meets on a regular basis to practice for competition, usually alongside squadron sports nights.

Minimum Participation Requirements (annual):
  1. 1 Fitness Assessment
  2. 5 Physical Fitness Activities*
    *Exception to 5 physical activities requirement
  • Providing CI Chan with a letter from an organized and competitive sports coach i.e. hockey team, soccer team, swim team etc with the following information:
    • On Team Letter Head
    • Example of training schedule or frequency
    • Coach name and contact information
    • Note: the cadet is still required to completed 1 Fitness Assessment as it is required for completion of level and promotion
